Invitation gratefully accepted; plan to bring guests.

I was inducted into the Baronial Order of Magna Carta by right of descent from Sair de Quincy, one of the Magna Carta Barons. As fate would have it, I also descend from John Lackland, as were all those inducted into the Order, so I have been given to understand. I will contribute to the Archive records of my descent from de Quincy, who if memory serves married a daughter of another of the Barons, de Vere, Duke of Oxford. Again relying on memory, by a remarkable 15-generation line of primogeniture descent, that Duke of Oxford who wrote under the pen name Shakespeare also comes from de Vere the Magna Carta Baron.

    All subject to DNA confirmation.

Then there was the Philadelphia matron who was told by here genealogist, “Madam, you are very well descended.” To which she replied, “Yes, but we’ve descended so far.”

More in a separate message to the British Ambassador.
